Friend,
Last night, Eric took the debate stage across from Esther King for the first time.
Our goal was simple: make a clear case for why Eric should be elected to serve this community. I joined Eric's campaign knowing this was about bringing people together to solve the real issues impacting Illinois families. This is about our ability to afford care, retire with dignity, put our kids through school, and live in an environment with clean air to breathe and water to drink.
Eric knocked it out of the park, and the contrast against Esther King's was quite stark. She doubled down on her anti-choice position, and didn't have an answer as to why she's being bankrolled by Kevin McCarthy's super PAC.
If you didn't know this, King isn't even originally from the 17th district, so it's no wonder she's so out of touch. My favorite point in the debate was when King rattled off the names of some of the bigger cities in our district -- a bare minimum attempt at passing off as a local. Eric quickly retorted with the names of even more (and even smaller) towns like Prophetstown, Lanark, Knoxville, and Canton --
places King's probably never campaigned in.
We think what Eric said last night connected with those in attendance. And we hope we made you a proud supporter, too. If you're with us, please send in a donation of $3 or more today. We're still contending with McCarthy's super PAC and every bit helps in the homestretch.
Thanks, friend. More soon.
