I’ve told you how I’m working in DC to reform the Supreme Court, and that I’ve introduced a slate of bills to stop the ultraconservative majority on the court from attacking Americans’ rights.

Well, last week I had a great Twitter Space discussion with Elie Mystal and Congressman Mondaire Jones about my plan to expand the Supreme Court. Mitch McConnell and the GOP have stacked the deck against the American people by using every dirty trick they can conjure to create a Supreme Court that answers to the Republican policy agenda and the GOP’s corporate donors.

So now, the fair and just course of action is to expand the number of justices on the court to unstack the deck and stop the attack on voting rights, women’s rights, civil rights, and LGBTQ+ rights.

How far to the right has the Supreme Court veered lately? The solidly conservative Chief Justice Roberts isn’t even the swing vote anymore. The right-wing ideologues can act without him, endangering Americans’ long established rights and liberties. Roberts has lost control of his court, and he knows it.

We need to act NOW to protect Americans from the rogue majority on the Supreme Court. That means ensuring that there are justices on the court whose rulings will be rooted in the rule of law, not an ideological policy agenda.
