Welch for Vermont

Hi there,

It’s Ryan, Peter’s campaign manager. As we approach the final five weeks of our campaign, I’ll be giving grassroots supporters like you weekly updates from here on out, and I’m sharing exactly why I’m on Team Welch.

But before I dive into the details, I want to be upfront with you: five weeks isn’t a lot of time. Our campaign is relying on sustained support during this final sprint to take us to the next level. By making one gift per week, for the next five weeks, you’ll give us the certainty and the resources we need to make effective plans and to reach voters all across this state.

Will you pledge to make a weekly recurring donation from now until November 8? This is how we ensure we have the grassroots power to scale this movement and send Peter to the Senate.

I’ve worked for Peter since 2015. So I’ve seen the kind of person he is and how he leads with Vermont values—by valuing the importance of community, listening, and focusing on the solutions, not who gets credit. And, I know this personally, because Peter’s been there for me in good times and bad, which is exactly how he’s shown up for his constituents as congressman. He’s always there with a kind word or handwritten note because that’s just who he is.

But it’s not serious all the time—Peter is also pretty fun to be around, both on the trail and in the office! You know him as your congressman, but here on Team Welch, he’s who I like to describe as the class clown—always joking around and hunting for snacks around the office. It’s really never a dull moment!

Peter has worked for the past 15 years to deliver on some of the most consequential problems working families are facing, like lowering prescription drug prices and confronting climate change. But I see just as much drive in him to help Vermonters now as I did the day I started working for him. That’s how I know we need his experience, and his Vermont values, in the U.S. Senate.

Our campaign is so much bigger than just this election. To understand just how high the stakes are, just think: Republicans only need one seat to retake Senate control—and we can’t let it be Vermont. We know we must win here in Vermont if we want to keep the Senate blue. If our Republican opponent wins, our entire progressive agenda will be on the line.

That’s why I’m asking (if you’re able) to make a five-week commitment to our campaign with a weekly recurring donation every week until Election Day. Anything you’re able to contribute—$5, $10, $25—will be a huge help to reach voters in a critical race like this.

Thank you so much for everything—and I’ll be in touch again next week.

Ryan McLaren
Campaign Manager, Welch for Vermont

PS: We understand not everyone is able to give weekly. If you’re able, and you’d like to make a one-time contribution, you can do so here.
