It’s been just over 100 days since the conservative-leaning Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade .
In the weeks since then, we’ve felt tremendous anger, sadness, and fear. Anger that our country is going back in time when it comes to women’s rights and reproductive health care. Sadness for the millions of people who now have to travel across state lines to get the care that they need. And fear that right-wing politicians will pass even more laws restricting abortion access.
But all of these emotions combined have also led to another feeling: drive. Tammy and Senate Democrats are more driven than ever to pass federal legislation to protect abortion access. Tammy introduced the Women’s Health Protection Act in the Senate and had it not been for Republican obstruction, it would have federally protected reproductive health care access.
Now, Tammy is campaigning hard for pro-choice Democrats up and down the ballot. She knows the stakes of this election, especially here in Wisconsin where a law from over 100 years ago is now in effect, banning almost all abortions.
Wisconsin Republicans are in favor of laws restricting reproductive rights. And Senate Republicans have introduced a nationwide abortion ban that they’ll work to pass right away if they flip the Senate in their favor.
That’s why we all need to do our part to protect reproductive health care access, especially since we are just 5 weeks away from the election. Can you support Tammy’s efforts to federally enshrine abortion rights and elect pro-choice candidates this November?
