New W.Va. Entrepreneur Center Honors Late Nurse Leader
West Virginia fittingly honors the late Aila Accad, MSN, RN&mdash;who for years served as executive director at Future of Nursing West Virginia&mdash;by creating a center in her name that supports nurses interested in starting health-related businesses. The Aila Accad Center for Nurse Entrepreneurship, opened on September 24, has roots in the 2018 Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action Nursing Innovations Fund.

Students Have Needs&mdash;and Thus, So Do School Nurses
&ldquo;You never know the impact you have,&rdquo; writes a school nurse who also publishes a blog, noting that even before COVID-19, these &ldquo;chief wellness officers&rdquo; spent up to 34% of their time on children&rsquo;s mental health needs. What are examples of federal policies that create racial and ethnic health disparities? A newly formed committee at the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine wants to hear from the public on that and other questions. The aim: to analyze the social, economic, and environmental policies that contribute to preventable differences in health outcomes among Americans, and come up with effective solutions.
