John,

In the span of four years, Trump completely decimated the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

On top of denying climate science and weakening pollution rules for cars, power plants, and oil and gas, Trump did everything he could to destroy EPA’s workforce by slashing agency funding and offering employee buyouts. Now, we’re still cleaning up his mess.

Fortunately, with the historic funding passed in the Inflation Reduction Act, progress towards a sustainable future is finally underway. But the EPA is still plagued by a lack of resources and staff to get the agency back on track and make up for the lost time.

That’s why over 80 Congressional Democrats – led by SEEC Co-Chair Paul Tonko and SEEC Member Diana DeGette – signed a letter calling on President Biden to support the EPA’s largest union during contract negotiations.

Investing in the climate warriors who will make climate action possible is absolutely crucial. Improving the rights and protections of EPA employees is a central part of recruiting and retaining staff right when they need it most. SEEC Members know this, and it’s why they’re calling for the most pro-union President to take action for workers and for the planet.

That’s why we need more pro-environment voices in Congress that can join with SEEC and finally give the EPA the resources it needs. But now that the midterms are just 5 weeks away, we can’t afford to lose a single SEEC member’s seat. Help SEEC members repair Trump’s damage and continue passing strong environmental policies by chipping in today. [[link removed]]
