John — Voting by mail. Absentee Voting. Whatever your state calls it, and despite all the disinformation flying around, mail-in ballots are a completely safe and secure voting option.

After you receive your ballot, there are a few things to keep in mind:
- Different states have different deadlines for returning your ballot in person, but you’re usually able to drop off your ballot before Election Day;
- Depending on the state you are voting in, you can return your ballot at your polling place, your local election office, or a designated ballot drop box;
- You can also mail your ballot in, but you should do that as soon as possible — at least seven days before the deadline. While deadlines change from state to state, it’s a good rule of thumb to mail your ballots no later than November 1.
Voting by mail is a convenient, secure way to exercise your right to vote. So, request your mail-in ballot today.
