Yesterday, our Founder and Executive Director, Jordan Zaslow, spoke at the Women’s March Headquarters in LA to raise awareness about a critical election happening on the West Coast: Congresswoman Karen Bass is running for Mayor of LA against a Republican billionaire with an anti-choice record, Rick Caruso.

Los Angeles has become an abortion access point for women in surrounding states. If Caruso wins this election, it’s scary to imagine what might become of that accessibility.

That’s why we’re asking: can you chip in $20.22 to help us start October strong for our pro-choice candidates in their races against anti-choice opponents?

At the federal level, Republicans are introducing bills that would restrict access to abortion in both red and blue states. But, as we know, the most urgent fights for reproductive rights are happening at the state level. Since Roe v. Wade was overturned, 16 states have banned or limited abortion access, forcing women to endure unwanted pregnancies, and rendering doctors unable to provide full reproductive healthcare.

In states across the country, it is becoming dangerous to be a woman.

In fact, just last week in Arizona, a judge ruled that an abortion ban from the 1800’s that was codified before Arizona was even a state will go into effect, prohibiting and criminalizing nearly all abortions.

This is what we are up against. Every election matters. We must elect pro-choice women at every level of government to protect abortion access, and we will need your help to do this.

Thanks to you and all the other grassroots supporters who receive these emails, we hit our September goal and were able to rush significant funds to our candidates ahead of one of their most critical fundraising deadlines. Our candidates are so close to the finish line. We need to keep up the momentum to make sure they WIN against their anti-choice opponents.

There is so much on the line. If these anti-choice, anti-democracy Republicans win, our country will continue down a very frightening path for women in particular. Will you chip in $20.22 so we can continue to support our candidates in the final stretch?
