In the wake of the Parkland shooting that took our loved ones, we’ve devoted ourselves to ensuring that no more families have to experience the pain and grief that we’ve gone through. Your contributions make this work possible, friends – will you consider sending a gift of any amount to keep this movement going? [[link removed]]Dear friends,

We’re diving head-first into a new school year, which brings many challenges and opportunities to improve school safety. Stand with Parkland is as dedicated as ever to the school safety movement, through advocating for legislation, disseminating resources, cultivating relationships with elected representatives, and more.

U.S. Representative Ted Deutch is one of the leaders that we’ve had the greatest pleasure of working with. He’s shepherded firearm violence prevention packages through Congress and stood by our side as we’ve worked to protect your schools and your communities. He supported our founding families after our loved ones were murdered. Ted also introduced the Eagles Act (H.R 1229) and the Luke and Alex School Safety Act in the House. It was an honor to attend his District send-off party!

Your contributions fund our work, and that includes creating and distributing resources for families to keep their children safe:

Gun safety is as easy as 1, 2, 3! This kid-friendly information is perfect to discuss with your kids. Whether unexpectedly at a friend’s house or in the classroom, your child may encounter a firearm, and it’s crucial that they take the proper steps to ensure their safety and the safety of those around them. You can print this information sheet and hang it on the fridge or in a common area in the home.

Safe Firearm Storage: Too many avoidable tragedies occur because firearms are not secured within the home. Take a look at our tips for parents and guardians on how to exercise responsible firearms ownership – you could save a life!

Our resources are free to distribute to all communities, and it’s your donations that make this possible. Please consider making a gift to Stand with Parkland today so we can keep working to make your families and communities safer. >> [[link removed]]

Finally, October 1st marks seven years since the tragic Umpqua Community College shooting in Roseburg, Oregon, when a student killed 9 members of the school community and injured 8 more. We’re thinking of the families who lost loved ones on that day and the entire Umpqua community that has been forever changed.

Just as we do this work and invite you to Stand with Parkland, we are standing with Umpqua.

We’re seeing progress on the local, state, and federal levels – but there is still so much work to be done, friends. Please consider a donation to support our work. Every dollar has a real impact on school safety in our country. [[link removed]]
