Dear Friend,

I hope you feel a sense of pride in being part of the largest historic civil rights and urban advocacy, direct services organization.

When you support the National Urban League, you help us act as the nation’s economic first responders on the ground helping people from all walks of life – like Victor – with urgency, expertise and compassion.

Victor is a hardworking minority restaurant owner, whose business was hit especially hard during the COVID-19 pandemic. With 25 employees who desperately needed their jobs, Victor did everything he could to keep it going. But when his landlord terminated his lease, Victor urgently needed help.

Thanks to the support of people like you, Victor was able to turn to his local Urban League who helped him find a new location for his restaurant – one with the carry-out, drive-thru and delivery capacity needed during the pandemic.
He not only successfully retained his staff, but his restaurant was one of the few that thrived!

In America’s economic state of crisis, we urgently need your help to train, support, and empower more Black and Brown Americans, like Victor.

We stand ready to help families achieve and maintain financial stability with job training and financial literacy programs, education and mentorship initiatives as well as supporting minority businesses and entrepreneurs.

We provide programs such as Project Ready, offering school mentorship and assistance for our youth. Our Urban Jobs and Apprenticeship programs provide job skills training for our youth, seniors, and formerly incarcerated people.
We provide guidance through Comprehensive Housing Counseling, delivering home ownership preparation and training courses. We fight for fair housing and offer assistance to people on the brink of eviction.

Friend, only with your help can we continue providing full-circle opportunities to Black Americans, from training and mentorship to emergency assistance – both now and in the future. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Marc H. Morial
President and Chief Executive Officer
