John,
You nominated a slate of amazing LGBTQ leaders from around the world for the 2022 Tammy Baldwin Breakthrough Award and the Global Trailblazer Award - and you voted for the leaders you most wanted to win. People in 14 countries and over 35 U.S. states voted!
So without further ado, join us in congratulating our 2022 winners... Mexican Congresswoman Salma Luévano and Nebraska state Senator Megan Hunt!
Megan Hunt
Megan is an entrepreneur, mother and activist. She has tackled conversion therapy, food insecurity, and affordable housing since her election in 2018, when she was the first out LGBTQ woman elected to the Nebraska Legislature. She recently gained national headlines for filibustering a bill that would have outlawed abortion access in Nebraska.
Salma Luévano
Salma Luévano made history as one of the first two out transgender people elected to Mexico’s Congress. She has championed LGBTQ political and electoral rights, such as instating rainbow candidate quotas, amending birth certificates for trans people and more.
We know this was a hard choice to make - all of our nominees are fantastic. You can watch both winners receive their awards at the International LGBTQ Leaders Conference on November 30 – December 3. Don't wait - register today to see them live and save with our Fall Registration Rate!
