Town Hall with Rep. Ro Khanna, Teamsters' Sean O'Brien, and Rethink Trade's Lori Wallach on Creating a Worker-Centered Trade Deal
Thursday, October 6 at 2pm ET/11am PT

The Biden administration has launched the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) negotiations with 13 nations to set rules for 40% of the global economy. Big Tech corporations are using their monopoly power and lobbyists to try to hijack IPEF talks and lock in international rules that guarantee their continued abuse of workers, consumers, and smaller businesses. They want an IPEF "digital trade" agreement that would set binding rules to handcuff Congress, U.S. agencies and other nations’ governments and derail policies that end Big Tech abuses against gig workers and workers' rights, violation of consumer privacy and civil rights, and abuse of smaller businesses.
If Big Tech is able to rig IPEF talks, a resulting deal could result in NAFTA-level damage to millions more workers here and around the world.
On Thursday, October 6 at 2pm ET/11am PT , join us for an important and timely discussion about what can be done to ensure that instead IPEF is the first new worker-centered trade deal.
