There’s a term in politics used to describe a last-minute momentum shift in the weeks leading up to a big election—something that can completely flip a race on its head.

It’s called an October Surprise, and since JD and I are basically tied, anything that comes out of left field could ultimately decide who controls the Senate in November.

That’s why it’s absolutely critical that we kickstart October with a huge outpouring of grassroots support.

Can I count on you to split a donation between my campaign and Debbie Stabenow ASAP so we can stockpile resources and avoid any October pitfalls that might take the wind out of our sails? We have to raise $100,000 in the next week to keep our TV ads on the air.

This is one of the closest races in the country, folks.

This means that anything and everything could have an outsized impact on the outcome of the race.

If I’m being honest, folks, I don’t like leaving things up to chance. I’d much rather put some distance between me and JD in the polls so that we can pull off a massive win in November.

We’re heading into the final full month of the campaign, and our coffers are quickly drying up at the worst possible time. We need to be ready for anything—so will you split a donation of $25 to flip Ohio blue and expand our Democratic Senate majority?
