Deep disappointment as youth work and many young people overlooked in Budget 2023

The 1.6% increase in current funding for youth services is deeply disappointing for a sector that supports over 380,000 young people. This limited funding increase is effectively a cut, with core inflation set to be 5.25% for 2023. Read our budget 2023 reaction >>

One World Week 2022: Training Workshops
From September through to January, we will be providing free One World Week training workshops. These are for young people and youth workers, and will facilitate discussions around the theme of “Globalisation – The YOUTH & the TRUTH.”

We're delighted to announce that Jessica Gill and David Giles have been selected to join Ireland’s official delegation to the United Nations for 2022 – 2023, representing young people in Ireland at a global level.

Youth Arts & STEAM Project Management Series

The National Youth Arts and STEAM Engagement Programmes will be delivering a 3-part project management training series exploring topics through the lens of youth arts and STEAM projects, including assessing young people's needs, design and evaluation of projects, and developing funding applications.

VSI is looking for young people aged 18 - 25 to take part in our Youth for Climate Justice project in November 2022! Participants will learn about climate justice and be equipped with the skills, knowledge and confidence to act for global change.

The Young Environmentalist Awards (YEA) is the biggest ECO-Action programme in Ireland that recognises and rewards young people who create action projects in their local youth group or community.

No Name Club

No Name clubs provide alcohol and drug free social spaces, events, and activities for young people aged 15-18. They are up and running again as their clubs look forward to what will hopefully be a full uninterrupted year of activity after Covid times.

Youth Wave 2022

Youth Work Ireland's annual celebration of youth clubs is taking place on Saturday 22nd October in National Office, Dublin. Youth Wave is a chance for youth club participants, workers and volunteers to come together at a national level to take part in fun, educational and interactive workshops where they can learn new skills, be entertained and have fun.

What Works Workshops

Involve youth Project Meath have secured funding through the Dormant Accounts funds to deliver 5 FREE workshops on the development of their youth mental health board game. Four of these workshops will be held Nationally and 1 online throughout the month of November.

Mentoring Programme for Youth Work Students

Sallynoggin College of Further Education are currently looking for mentors to support their Youth Work students. This programme will provide students with the opportunity to meet and network with professionals who are able to offer support, clarify their goals and improve their employability.

Format: keep submissions concise (three lines or shorter). Include a link to your website where readers can find out more.

The E-Bulletin goes out to over 5,000 subscribers with an interest in youth issues. It is a great opportunity both to let the sector know about the fantastic work your organisation does and to target youth workers and those interested in youth work issues directly.
