STANDING WITH VETERANS

I believe in honoring those who served, which is why I am happy to announce that my office and I have returned over $1,500,109.81 to constituents—many of whom were veterans having issues with the VA. From helping a veteran who had to wait 14 months for care cut through the bureaucracy, to helping another veteran get immediate open-heart surgery that saved his life, my team and I are always busy helping veterans receive the care they EARNED. In addition to the casework services my office provides, I have been busy working on legislation to improve veterans’ care at the VA. I voted for four pro-veteran bills that became law, including: the Veteran’s Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2021, the VA Transparency and Trust Act of 2021, the John M. McHugh Tuition Fairness for Survivors Act, and the Department of Veterans Affairs Expiring Authorities Act of 2021.

I also introduced numerous appropriations amendments to bolster suicide prevention and mental health services for veterans, to provide more resources for the Board of Veterans’ Appeals to reduce its backlog, and to provide more resources to reduce the general veterans’ disability claims backlog.

Finally, I cosponsored the TREAT PTSD Act, the Veterans Access to Direct Primary Care Act, and the WINGMAN Act to make sure that the VA is giving our veterans the best care possible. Our nation’s heroes will always be one of my top priorities, and I’ll keep fighting on their behalf!

FIGHTING INFLATION

As a member of the Budget committee, I am working to restore fiscal sanity to Congress.

After saying that COVID is over, Biden’s hypocrisy was on full display when he turned around and asked Congress for permission to squander another $22.4 billion of your tax dollars on new “COVID relief.” I led a successful effort supported by 26 Members of Congress to prevent this unnecessary expenditure. Congressional negotiators agreed, and the Continuing Resolution that is being considered does not include Biden’s wasteful COVID spending.

SUPPORTING RELIABLE AND AFFORDABLE ENERGY

We don’t need new spending or subsidies to secure American energy independence. We need the right policies. We need to unleash American energy to decrease gas prices, decrease the unemployment rate, reduce inflation, and protect our national security interests. I introduced the Fueling American Prosperity Act and the Protecting American Energy Jobs Act to nullify and defund Biden’s energy-killing executive orders, restart energy leasing, and get America back on track to energy dominance. It is time to drill, baby, drill!

DEFENDING THE DISTRICT FROM YET ANOTHER DEMOCRAT LANDGRAB

I am leading a coalition opposing the latest leftist landgrab. Because the left has failed to pass a flawed bill into law, extremist environmentalists and out-of-touch Colorado politicians are now asking Biden to circumvent the will of the American people to lock up hundreds of thousands of acres in Colorado through the stroke of his pen.

Local stakeholders have come out in strong opposition to this landgrab which would kill jobs, harm private water rights, prevent responsible energy production, stop active forest management that will reduce wildfires, and prohibit critical minerals exploration. This action would be bad for America and bad for Colorado, so I’ll continue leading the effort opposing it!

“I introduced legislation to call fentanyl what it is: a weapon of mass destruction. Montrose Press, Boebert criticizes call to protect Camp Hale

“The three Republican U.S. representatives from Colorado urged President Joe Biden in a letter dated Thursday against using his authority to designate land named in the stalled Colorado Outdoor and Recreation Act as a national monument, arguing that the designation does not have congressional or local support…Boebert, who has been a vocal opponent of the CORE Act, disagrees with the plan to use executive action instead of going through Congress.”

Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), who led the letter, said it would be a mistake for Biden to establish the monument ‘through the stroke of his pen’ rather than leaving the issue to Congress…‘Without local buy-in, any designation of land under the Antiquities Act will be subject to considerable controversy, as well as never-ending litigation,’ they said in their letter to Biden.”

If you are having issues with a federal agency or want your voice to be heard, please schedule an appointment at one of my District offices or come to one of our mobile office hours. My team has successfully helped constituents who weren’t getting answers from federal agencies, like veterans seeking to get the care they earned from the VA, travelers needing expedited assistance to receive a passport on short notice, taxpayers being harassed by the IRS, senior citizens having issues with the Social Security Administration or Medicare, and more.
