Friend,
I want to extend a huge
thank you to everyone who chipped in ahead of last Friday’s FEC fundraising deadline. Thanks to you, not only did we exceed our goal -- we’re poised to submit our
largest quarterly report to date!
That’s the good news.
Unfortunately, we didn’t have much time to celebrate. This weekend we got word that the Congressional Leadership Fund -- Kevin McCarthy’s super PAC -- is adding an additional
$1,000,000 for television attacks against us.
After working so hard, I know it can be a little disheartening to see a super PAC just airdrop millions into key races like this, but I’d still chalk this up as a positive development. Here’s why:
- It means McCarthy and company don’t think my opponent Esther King is a strong enough candidate to win this race on her own. That’s especially true now her deeply unpopular position on choice.
- This investment -- one month from the election -- feels a lot like a last-minute panic spend from a worried McCarthy.
We have the momentum, and this is precisely the part of our race when we start to sprint to the finish. No rest. No hesitation. It’s time to dig deep and finish strong.
I hate asking, friend, but we don’t have much of a choice. With McCarthy’s super PAC doubling down on attack ads, I’m hoping you can add a contribution of $3 to help us win this race.
Thanks again for your support,
--
