It's LGBTQ+ History Month: Let's Celebrate and Support the Parents of LGBTQ+ Kids

This past June, PFLAG National partnered with LGBTQ Nation and Chevrolet on Authentic Voices of Pride, a series that shines a light on vital LGBTQ+ issues through intimate conversation, in-depth profiles, and firsthand stories from within our community.

Actor, writer, activist—and loving PFLAG mom—Busy Philipps talks about supporting her queer nonbinary child in this incredible series, which also offers additional resources and tips on parenting LGBTQ+ kids.

In honor of LGBTQ+ History Month, LGBTQ Nation and Chevrolet are extending their generous matching gift challenge: Every gift will be doubled, up to a total of $25,000!

Something to Talk About...Live!

October Is LGBT History Month. And That Matters.

LGBT History Month (its traditional name--formerly Gay and Lesbian History Month) was founded in 1994 by a Missouri high-school teacher named Rodney Wilson as a way to acknowledge the contributions of LGBTQ+ people throughout history. Now, nearly 30 years later, it’s importance, existence, and formal recognition is being attacked, challenged, and debated in communities across the country.

Join us this Thursday, October 6 at 4:30 PM ET / 1:30 PM PT for Something to Talk About Live where we will be discussing "What is LGBTQ History Month and why did a Miami school board change its mind about it?", which appeared in the NPR by Dustin Jones. We're excited to welcome Rodney Wilson, the founder of LGBT History Month, to the conversation!

As always, you can find us on Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

To learn more--and to check out our discussion questions in advance--visit pflagnation.al/STTALive-100622.
