Almost 5 million people have illegally entered the country since Biden’s inauguration—but how many do you think snuck in avoiding detection?

 

Right now we rely on a combination of technology and counting footprints on the ground to estimate this likely number of ‘got-aways’ that evaded Border Patrol. Cartels don’t want us detecting their footsteps so they attach strips of carpet to their shoes to deter tracking.

 

The thought of ‘carpet shoes’ didn't sound fashionable to me when I learned about them, but my friend Art Del Cueto, Vice President of the National Border Patrol Council, shared they’re quite the trend for cartels at the southern border.
