Tomorrow is a big night, John. Gov. Janet Mills will face off against former Gov. Paul LePage in the first debate of 2022.

The only thing that these two have in common is being governor — the similarities stop there. LePage is known best for making threats, cutting support to Maine’s most vulnerable communities, and moving to Florida the moment his term ended. Gov. Mills is a lifelong Mainer, a pragmatic and practical leader who has helped our state grow.

We know that people around Maine will be tuning in to watch and see what ranting and raving Paul LePage gets up to, so we set a goal to reach 100 donations from around Maine for this debate. Can you help us reach that goal now and pitch in $5? [link removed]

Paul LePage is going to get on stage and tell the same lie he’s been trying to sell all year: that he’s changed for the better. But whether it’s threatening to physically assault a Maine Dems staffer or telling the Christian Civic League he supports abortion restrictions, it’s clear he’s the same erratic extremist he’s always been.

We need your help to keep talking to voters and reminding them who the real Paul LePage is — a radical politician ready to strip away your freedoms and undo the progress we’ve made under the leadership of Gov. Mills and Democrats in the legislature. LePage thinks Mainers won’t remember his past, but we know the truth.

Will you chip in to our debate goals now? We only need 100 Mainers to step up and help us keep up momentum before the next debate. You could be one. [[link removed]

You can watch the debate tomorrow night at 8 pm on Maine Public.

Thank you,

Maine Dems
