As the longtime principal of a public middle school in the Bronx, I saw
real need in our community that wasn’t being addressed by our absent
representative. That’s when Justice Democrats recruited me to run for
Congress myself.

Most people tried to tell us victory was impossible. They said that even
if we could convince voters, we could never compete with the millions that
Super PACs would throw at us. But they were all wrong.

Thanks to the tireless work of the team at Justice Democrats, we won an
unprecedented race and made history right here in the Bronx.

When almost half of all members of Congress are millionaires, we know the
odds are stacked against working people. That’s why Justice Democrats’
work is so important – they help level the playing field for working class
candidates who deserve a real shot at representing our communities.

In just a few years, Justice Democrats have transformed Democratic
politics and shown that regular people can run for office and win. And we
can do it all without a cent of corporate money or compromising on our
core values.

Cycle after cycle, JD helps elect new progressives who go on to fight for
the lifesaving policies we need. We have to continue to recruit, support,
and elect new Justice Democrats who will join our Squad and represent the
movement in Congress.
