John,

As a result of Donald Trump’s and his allies’ coordinated effort to undermine the results of the 2020 election, we came perilously close to seeing our democracy destroyed last January 6.

That's why I was proud to be one of the legislators to introduce bipartisan reforms to the Electoral Count Act this year. Now, this critical legislation to reinforce our democratic process is ready to move forward, and I hope I can count on your support. If you support the passage of bipartisan reforms to the Electoral Count Act, add your name right now >> [link removed]

These bipartisan fixes to the Electoral Count Act will help close the loopholes that former President Trump attempted to exploit. It will clarify that voters, and not the vice president, select the next President of the United States of America. It will make it harder to launch frivolous and unfounded objections in Congress to states’ lawful electoral votes.

I know that the work to ensure that American democracy remains fair and free will last beyond the lifetimes of our children and grandchildren. We still have a long way to go until we can build a system that works for all of us, but the proposed reforms of the Electoral Count Act are a vital first step forward.

If you support reforming the Electoral Count Act, sign my petition today. >> [link removed]

Thank you,

Chris Coons
