** "Californians may be inured to high gas prices and not even realize how much more they pay than folks in other states. The average price of gas is $3.11 a gallon in Texas and $3.39 in Florida despite supply disruptions from Hurricane Ian. Many Californians think they’re living in the inevitable green future."

Saying the quiet part out loud...

Why competent energy policy matters--Germans are sitting alone in darkened, unheated apartments, giving up on their dreams.

** LA Times ([link removed])
(10/3/22) reports: "Kati Pannwitz spends her evenings at home alone in a darkened and unheated apartment, watching old movies while worrying about the new reality of life in a country that is being drawn ever closer to the war in Ukraine. Surging inflation and fears about an energy crisis are hitting home for Pannwitz, 34, taking a heavy toll on her finances and the futures of both her and her 17-year-old son. No more vacations, no more trips abroad, no more going out, no more saving and an outlook that has grown increasingly bleak for Pannwitz — and millions of fellow Germans — since Russian armed forces invaded Ukraine seven months ago. 'I’ve given up on all my dreams,' said Pannwitz, a single mother who works at a Berlin car dealership and had been saving up to travel the world one day. Because her financial reserves have vaporized this year, she plans to start moonlighting in a men’s clothing shop just to keep making ends meet. Her son recently joined the army after finishing high
school. 'Like all my friends, I’m scared about how to get by,' she said. 'How can we pay the bills when prices are going insane like this? First I turned the heat down, but then I turned it off after the bill doubled. I’ve been using candles instead of lights, and watching Netflix instead of going out. What else can I do? How are we going to survive this?'"

This is pretty outrageous behavior from administration officials. If they don't like how refiners are operating their business, then go buy a refinery and show people how it is done instead of whining.

(9/30/22) reports: "Senior Biden administration officials pressed executives from some of the largest US gasoline producers to curtail overseas sales during a tense meeting Friday afternoon, suggesting that without voluntary action, the government could force the industry to stockpile more fuel in US tanks. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm and other administration officials chastised the industry representatives for low diesel stockpiles, floating the possibility of export limits and a requirement for oil companies to hold minimum fuel inventories inside the US, according to people familiar with the matter who asked not be named describing the private virtual meeting. It was the latest in a series of meetings between the Biden administration and oil companies this year, as the White House seeks to tamp down energy costs that are contributing to high inflation. An earlier session in June was marked by a more robust back-and-forth conversation about the market and hurricane preparedness,
the people said. In addition to Granholm, the session included representatives from Exxon Mobil Corp., Marathon Petroleum Corp., Phillips 66 and Shell Plc, as well as National Economic Council director Brian Deese and Amos Hochstein, a senior energy adviser at the State Department, according to a person familiar with the matter. Although the session was billed as a discussion of refining operations and fuel supplies in the wake of Hurricanes Fiona and Ian, the storms were not a focus, the people said. Instead, discussion centered on lower-than-normal inventories of fuel, with diesel stocks 20% below their five-year average."

"We own The Science™."

(10/1/22) reports: "Melissa Fleming, Under-Secretary for Global Communications at the United Nations at WEF 'Disinformation' event: 'We partnered with Google,' said Fleming, adding, 'for example, if you Google ‘climate change,’ you will, at the top of your search, you will get all kinds of UN resources. We started this partnership when we were shocked to see that when we Googled ‘climate change,’ we were getting incredibly distorted information right at the top. So we’re becoming much more proactive. We own the science, and we think that the world should know it, and the platforms themselves also do.' During the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Sustainable Development Impact Meetings last week, the unelected globalists held a panel on 'Tackling Disinformation' where participants from the UN, CNN, and Brown University discussed how to best control narratives. Fleming also highlighted that the UN worked with TikTok on a project called 'Team Halo' to boost COVID messaging coming from medical and
scientific communities on the Chinese-owned video sharing platform. “We had another trusted messenger project, which was called ‘Team Halo’ where we trained scientists around the world and some doctors on TikTok, and we had TikTok working with us,” she said. Now you know how 'the science' is created! "
