I was delighted to join colleagues from trentbarton at the new Broad Marsh bus station this morning to officially mark the company arriving on-site.
Buses began moving in and out of the state-of-the-art facility from yesterday and trentbarton follows National Express as two major operators based at Broad Marsh. More than 250 local services will now arrive and depart from there each day.
The bus station is on the ground floor below the Broad Marsh car park and the building will also house the city?s new Central Library ? internal work is under way to fit that out. The development and its green credentials recently won?another major construction industry award, while surrounding streets are undergoing a huge transformation to create a welcoming new gateway to the city.

I?m really pleased to see our pioneering approach to whole-house energy efficiency measures being noticed and reported in the national media.
We embarked on a project five years ago to carry out whole home retrofits using innovative methods and state-of-the-art technology. At a time when we are all thinking much more about the cost of energy, the sort of energy we use and the impact on the planet, schemes like this show a positive way forward. It is reaping incredible benefits for tenants already, who say previously cold homes now feel warm and comfortable at a fraction of the cost on their bills. Kevin Hill describes the difference as "phenomenal" and says his energy bill savings are "out of this world."
That?s a fantastic endorsement for saving money while doing our bit to save the planet.
Homeowners in Nottingham also have opportunities to have loft, cavity wall or underfloor insulation installed in their homes for free. The current scheme is targeting homes that have an EPC of E or below and is for households that have a combined annual income of less that ?30,000. People can apply through Nottingham Energy Partnership: https://nottenergy.com/our-services/green-homes-grant-lads/
