State Legislative News

  • Massachusetts In response to the Supreme Court of the U.S. ruling in the Bruen case, Massachusetts legislators updated the language for their gun licensing laws. Governor Baker signed it into law without incident on August 10, 2022.
  • Texas A federal judge ruled against the state's handgun age restriction as unconstitutional.
  • Delaware Portions of Delaware ghost guns law put on hold while a constitutional challenge makes its way through federal court.

Every state across the country has been challenged on their existing gun laws since SCOTUS' ruling on the New York Bruen case. Of note, the National Association for Gun Rights has filed multiple lawsuits in Colorado, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Hawaii and Illinois citing the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision to overturn assault weapons and extended magazine bans.
