John, today is
our official Get Out The Vote (GOTV) kickoff.
We know that we need historic voter turnout, which is why we’re building
the largest GOTV program in Texas history.
[ [link removed] ]We’re going to share our strategy with you in a moment. But first, if
you’re ready to fuel our GOTV efforts in the 36 days we have left until
the election, will you pitch in and make a gift here?
This year isn’t normal, for three big reasons:
First, Greg Abbott has repeatedly failed Texas over the span of eight long
years. And Texans have noticed: a majority of Texans believe our state is
heading in the wrong direction and disapprove of the job Greg Abbott is
doing. A whopping 82% of Texans disagree with Abbott outlawing abortion
beginning at conception with no exceptions for rape or incest.
Second, Texas is changing. Ten years ago, President Obama lost Texas by
nearly 16 points. Six years ago, Hillary Clinton lost Texas by 9 points.
Two years ago, Joe Biden lost Texas by 6 points.
That’s a 10-point swing in the span of a decade — that’s huge!
There are about 7 million voters who we believe are likely to vote for
Beto (which is why it’s so important for us to reach out to them and to
convince them to vote). To compare, when Greg Abbott got re-elected in
2018, he got just under 4.7 million votes. So we know we can win this,
which brings us to our final point:
Third, we’re building the largest GOTV program in Texas history. In 2018,
Beto inspired thousands of Texans across our state to volunteer — and they
knocked on 3 million doors and made 20 million calls. It was the largest
organizing program in Texas history, and it brought Beto just 2.6 points
shy of winning.
This year, we’ve already knocked on twice as many doors and made twice as
many calls as in 2018. We’ve already far eclipsed the amount of voter
contact we did that year — and we’re ramping up even more in the few weeks
we have left.

to fuel that work through Election Day. So please chip in whatever you can
