We’re proud to collaborate with The National Council for Mental Wellbeing ([link removed]) and kate spade new york ([link removed]) , who are partnering to provide targeted mental health resources and support to New York City-New Jersey area artists, entertainers and industry professionals with the help of the Soho House New York ([link removed]) and Love IV Lawrence ([link removed]) .

As an extension of the kate spade new york brand’s social impact mission focused on mental health and wellbeing, this project provides Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) trainings to artists and entertainers in the New York City-New Jersey area, and offers additional resources to support our community, friends and family members who may be experiencing a mental health challenge.

We are pleased to invite you to participate in an upcoming Mental Health First Aid ([link removed]) (MHFA) certification training. Registration is now open for an in-person or virtual MHFA training on the course registration page ([link removed]) . Available dates include:
* In-person: Monday, October 10, 9 am–4 pm ET at Soho Works
* Virtual: Monday, October 24, 10 am–4 pm ET via Zoom

You can also request a private training ([link removed]) through the National Council for your arts organization.
What to Expect:

* Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, MHFA helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related challenge or crisis.
* In the MHFA course, you will learn to:
+ Identify the signs and symptoms of a mental health or substance use challenge or crisis.
+ Understand that anyone can experience and recover from a mental health challenge.
+ Respond to a mental health challenge or crisis using a 5-Step Action Plan.
* The course requires two hours of self-paced virtual pre-work, and six hours of instructor-led training.

Should you have any questions or need additional information, please do not hesitate to reach out. Contact the MHFA Team at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) .

Note: To be eligible to participate in a MHFA training, individuals must be 18 years or older and reside in the New York City-New Jersey area.
