John -

As we all work to put the finishing touches on our holiday preparations and look forward to spending quality time with family and friends, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on this past year with you - and look ahead to the work we will get done together in 2020.

In the beginning of the year, I reached out to this grassroots team to share exciting news about a new role and mission I took on as the chair of the Senate Democrats' campaign arm for the 2020 election cycle. I told you that you've always had my back and my hope was that you'd continue to have my back in this new leadership role as we fight tooth and nail to protect the things we care about - and the things we know help the hardworking people of Nevada, and Americans, get ahead. And that meant that I asked you to continue to step up and help me work to end Mitch McConnell's stranglehold over the Senate once and for all and finally flip the Senate.

And my gosh did you all step up! And stepped up in a big way. You've helped me raise tens of thousands of dollars directly for campaigns running to flip our most critical Senate seats at play in 2020. Folks like Mark Kelly in Arizona, John Hickenlooper in Colorado, Theresa Greenfield in Iowa, Sara Gideon in Maine, Cal Cunningham in North Carolina and Jaime Harrison in South Carolina. And equally as important in our fight for Senate control is our shared commitment to ensure we protect Democratic held seats key to our majority. Seats like my friends' Gary Peters in Michigan, Tina Smith in Minnesota, Doug Jones in Alabama and Jeanne Shaheen in New Hampshire.

And now - let me tell you. Our hard work is paying off. While Mitch McConnell and some in his GOP Senate continue to enable Donald Trump's worst behavior, paving the way for his harmful agenda - our Democratic Senate candidates continue to rise in the polls and outraise their Republican challengers, whose approval ratings just keep declining.

As I travel around the country campaigning for our Senate candidates and talking to voters - one thing becomes more and more clear: Americans have had enough of Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump's extremist, obstructionist and divisive agenda. They're sick and tired of the attacks on things like our health care and reproductive freedoms. They're fed up with Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump's inaction to protect our communities from gun violence, children from the effects of climate change and economic security for hardworking families.

But on Election Day in 2020 - that is all going to change. We've got incredible candidates that will fight like hell for all of the important issues we care about. Candidates whose campaign infrastructures this grassroots team is helping to build. We've got the momentum on our side, but we cannot take a single thing for granted or let up for a moment.

We no doubt have a tough road ahead of us and battles to come in 2020. But I know that if this grassroots team sticks with me and continues to show up and step up - we will flip the Senate on Election Day. I'm more committed than ever to this fight - and am eternally grateful I've got this team in the trenches with me. Thank you for all you do.

Now, go enjoy some much-deserved downtime with family and friends this week. Paul and I wish you all the happiest of holidays and a new year filled with laughter, love and a lot of delicious food!

¡La lucha sigue! The fight continues!

Catherine
