MADISON, Wis. ? While local governments play a key role in directing response and recovery efforts following a disaster, there are many partners throughout the community who are critical to the process. Exploring those roles is a key focus of the Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM) Public Private Partnership (P3) Summit, taking place Oct. 25-26 at the Lismore Hotel in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

This annual event brings together representatives from state and local governments, emergency response agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private businesses to share information on preparing and planning for disasters.

This year?s summit will include pre-conference training sessions provided by the National Center for Disaster Preparedness, which will focus on improving financial literacy and management for businesses to support their post-disaster economic recovery. Keynote presentations and panel discussions will focus on topics such as reviewing current cyber and physical threats to businesses, building supply-chain resilience, and integrating preparedness efforts into local communities.

Registration for the summit is free, and lunch will be provided.

Registration and summit information are available at [link removed] [ [link removed] ].

The P3 Summit is coordinated by members of the WEM Business Emergency Operations Center (BEOC) and other partner agencies. More information about the BEOC is available at [link removed].
