~ Alaska Ballot Access Update ~

Your financial support for raising the $10,000.00 needed to gain ballot status for the Alaska Constitution Party has been amazing. Funds have come in from every region of the country, even from states in which the party has yet to build an organization. Our goal of raising the funds by the end of September seemed unrealistic, but we are almost there.

As of September 30th,, donations in the amount of $8,696.00 have been received, and it has been gratifying to see that happen.

This leaves us only $1,304.00 to reach our goal

Since initiating the fund drive just weeks ago, we have picked up a strong leader who is willing to take on the reigns to help build the party in Alaska. Karen Murray previously served as a state officer in Washington and also served on the National Executive Committee.  She has since moved to Alaska and has volunteered to take a leadership role to help build the party there.  She has already found additional people who are willing to assist in the ballot petition drive.

Achieving ballot access early in Alaska and other states is critical since that allows us to get the party on the ballot now and enable us to run candidates for local office next year in 2023. It is true that in order to maintain ballot position, many states require that our candidates receive a minimum of two percent of the votes cast for a statewide office, but the reality is that a party must be built by electing our candidates first to local, city, county and state legislative offices. This is a process that requires patience and time, but it works.

A good example is the state of Utah. In Duchesne, Utah, the party currently has elected the mayor and three of the four town council members. In the 2021 election cycle, no candidates filed to run against any of those currently serving. This is how you build a party.

Achieving ballot access ahead of the 2024 election will provide an opportunity for our candidates to run for local office in many states in 2023, which will give the party a full year to gain a foothold and put us on the ballot automatically in 2024. It will also allow our candidates to run for state house and senate seats. Our candidates will be able to spend their efforts campaigning rather than spending their time gathering signatures to get the party on the ballot.

It has been heartwarming to see the number and size of the donations that have come in.  Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to those who have supported our efforts. If you have not already donated funds to the party to get Alaska on the ballot, please click on the link below and donate what you can.  Even if you have already made a donation, consider making yet another donation to help us reach our goal.
