I don't want to scare you, John, but I have to tell you this.

Even if Democrats are able to hang on to the U.S. Senate and House next month, it may not be enough to save our democracy — not if Republicans win state-level offices that give them control over elections.

As important as it is to win federal races, gubernatorial races in states like Texas, Georgia, and Ohio might be even more important to our future.

The NDRC gets it — that's why we've endorsed 12 candidates for governor, five for secretary of state, and literally hundreds for state legislature. But it's impossible to support all of those Democracy Defenders and execute our 2022 strategy without every single person reading this pitching in.

Look, I know you get a lot of emails that tell you “The situation is dire!!!” But this situation IS dire. Our democracy is on life support — and if enough people don't DO SOMETHING about it, we could lose it for good.

2022 could be our last chance. Please, will you dig deep and chip in to help us STOP democracy-destroying election deniers and vote suppressors?
