Federal Law Enforcement Officers, 2020 ? Statistical Tables

This report presents data on full-time federal law enforcement officers who were authorized to make arrests, carry firearms, or both. It is the ninth in a series that began in 1993 and it describes the job functions, sex, race, and Hispanic origin of federal law enforcement officers. This report also provides data on the size and composition of federal law enforcement agencies.

Criminal Victimization, 2021

This report presents official estimates of criminal victimizations reported and not reported to police from BJS?s National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS). It is the 49th in a series that began in 1973 and includes statistics on nonfatal violent crimes (rape or sexual assault, robbery, aggravated assault, and simple assault) and property crimes (burglary or trespassing, motor vehicle theft, and other types of household theft). The report also describes the characteristics of crimes and victims.

BJS encourages comments for 60 days through November 18, 2022, on the proposed collection: National Prisoner Statistics (NPS) Program.? Through the NPS, BJS will collect data from 56 central reporters (one from each state, territory, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons) on the number and demographics of incarcerated persons and on prison admissions and releases.

The workshop will introduce new and potential data users to the types of information available through the NCVS, offer an overview of the survey structure and sample design, and provide hands-on training to assist in properly analyzing the NCVS public-use data.
