Dear John,

The Biden Administration is asking for public comments on Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act. Section 1557 is an essential civil rights protection that stops health care providers from discriminating on the basis of race, national origin, sex, age, or disability.

Trump’s Administration tried to roll back this rule by allowing religious discrimination and removing requirements that helped patients with limited English proficiency access health care. This made trans people, pregnant people, and people with limited English proficiency more vulnerable to discrimination.

This rule greatly impacts a variety of groups, and people living at the intersection of marginalized identities.

Tell the Biden Administration that we need stronger protections now!

Comments are due today, October 3, and the National Women’s Law Center has provided a portal to collect these comments.

Submit your own comment or use NWLC’s pre-filled text, and share with friends to weigh in on this important rule.

Thank you for taking action to defend all patients,

Erin, Shireen, Anvita, Audrey, Caitlin, Elizabeth, Evonnia, Jacqueline, Jessica, Kara, Nataley, Tenaja, and the Reproaction team

P.S. Support vulnerable patients by submitting your public comment today!
