John,
Since being sworn in as the 49th governor of Michigan on January 1, my administration has been laser-focused on getting things done that make a difference in people’s lives.
In 2019:
-
We created nearly 10,000 new auto jobs for Michigan
-
We signed legislation to lower the cost of auto insurance for thousands of consumers
-
And we took action to give 200,000 Michigan workers a raise by expanding the right to overtime pay.
We also signed a historic budget into law that puts $120 million of investments toward cleaning up drinking water, protects health coverage for families, and supports critical services like veterans programs.
We are working hard every day to solve problems for Michiganders. And I remain eager to work with everyone who wants to get things done.
But let’s be clear, we still have big challenges ahead of us in education and infrastructure -- And make no mistake, those are my top priorities in the new year.
We’ve made great progress in 2019, but we need to build on the work we’ve done in 2020. Can you contribute whatever you can before midnight tonight to help us hit our end-of-year goal before the new year?
Fighting for you,
Gretchen
