Yesterday, I was honored to be celebrated as a Rising Star at the Democratic Party of New Mexico's 2022 Rising Star event, DPNM’s biggest night of the year that brings Democratic leaders from across the state together.

It was an energetic and inspiring night that reminded us all of just how much is at stake in this November’s midterm election. In just over a month from now, we have the opportunity to flip this House seat from red to blue and remove an anti-choice election-denier from Congress — plus we must re-elect Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, Congresswomen Teresa Leger Fernandez and Melanie Stansbury, and elect strong Democrats to local and statewide positions.

Flipping this toss-up seat is crucial to defending our Democratic majority in the House, safeguarding our democracy and reproductive rights, and giving the people of NM-02 a true representative in Congress. But in order to do it, we need to put in the work and fight like hell over these final five weeks to Election Day.

Today, I’m joining Democratic leaders, organizers, and volunteers for the Rising Star Walk Canvass Kickoff. We’re canvassing critical neighborhoods in NW and SW Bernalillo County, knocking on doors, and talking to voters.
