Each year is better than the last at The Trevor Project. As I look back on 2019, I’m filled with hope for LGBTQ youth across the country. Our successes are a result of having such dedicated supporters, like you.

In 2019 alone, we were able to reach more than 100,000 young people in need through our crisis services. This is in large part due to TrevorChat and TrevorText officially expanding to 24/7 service. Our digital services allow us to meet young people where they are, ensuring LGBTQ youth know they are never alone.

We also released our inaugural National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health ([link removed]) this year. The ground-breaking survey provides new insights into the challenges that LGBTQ youth across the country face every day, including suicide, feeling sad or hopeless, discrimination, physical threats, and exposure to conversion therapy.

Four more states this year passed legislation to protect LGBTQ youth from the discredited and dangerous practice of conversion therapy, making a total of 18 states that have passed these important laws. We celebrated these victories in 2019 and we continue to build momentum to end conversion therapy by licensed practitioners among minors in all 50 states.

These are just a few of the successes we’ve seen this year. If I included everything that made 2019 so incredible, you’d be reading this email until 2020!
