Hey folks,

As students and teachers get settled into the new school year, I wanted to take a moment to reach out.

I’ll get straight to the point — many people are still struggling with the transition to being back in school as we enter year three of this global pandemic. As a parent of three girls, I have a glimpse into the challenges that schools, teachers, students, and parents face every day (as well as the incredible strength of our educators).

As your Democratic candidate for governor, I have plans to improve our education system so that all of our kids can thrive.

Here’s my promise to you: As the next governor of Arkansas, I will make sure children have access to high quality education, and that starts at preschool. This investment in education will make sure students have the foundation and opportunity to succeed.

Arkansans deserve a governor who will put education first — for the future of our students, teachers, and families. Can you chip in $20 or whatever you can today to help make my plans for education a reality?

We can support Arkansan students together — by making real, life-changing investments into education where parents and teachers don’t have to make impossible sacrifices for our students to succeed.

There’s no reason why increasing teacher pay should be political. But we’ve yet to hear from my opponent on this critical issue in our state. For me, every Arkansas student, regardless of where they live, deserves a quality education. And that starts with paying competitive salaries to support and attract highly qualified teachers.

I know that we can build an Arkansas that invests in education at all levels and yields real results. Let’s take a look:

My promise for improving education: Expand access to ensure every Arkansan has affordable and high quality preschool, Ensure pay equity for preschool educators and close the gap by increasing teacher pay, Use state funds to provide increased scholarship access, Increase funding for the Arkansas Future Grant so that a majority of two-year college students receive guaranteed financial aid, Reduce tuition costs by increasing education funding in the state budget

All of this, and so much more, is possible. Arkansas has the resources and innovation to lead neighboring states when it comes to education, and I commit to being a governor who gets it done — because teachers are essential workers and our students are our future.

Let’s send a message that the status quo is no longer enough — it’s time for real, substantial change. Please chip in to our campaign for governor to help make quality education a reality for every Arkansas student.

I hope you have a good school year!

Thanks so much,

Chris Jones
