The New York Times reports that conservative extremist groups across the
country are coordinating a campaign to remove tens of thousands of
registered voters from voting rolls and overwhelm election officials with
information requests.

This latest attack on democracy is yet another Republican voter
suppression tactic. They aim is to sow chaos and distrust in advance of
the midterm elections in November.

These attacks yet again highlight the need to expand our democratic
majorities, eliminate the filibuster, and pass comprehensive voting rights
protections and democracy reforms. But in these next five weeks, our best
counterattack is to make sure key candidates in tight swing-district races
have the resources to FIGHT BACK.

[ [link removed] ]John, can you chip in to progressive Senate and House
candidates fighting back against voter suppression tactics in swing
districts from Georgia to Oregon?

In 2020, critical Senate races in Georgia, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania
could come down to thousands or even hundreds of votes. Some House races
could be decided by dozens of votes or less.

NEW YORK TIMES: "Conservative groups in Georgia have challenged at least
65,000 voter registrations across eight counties...In Michigan, an
activist group tried to challenge 22,000 ballots from voters who had
requested absentee ballots for the state’s August primary. And in Texas,
residents sent in 116 affidavits challenging the eligibility of more than
6,000 voters in Harris County, which is home to Houston and is the state’s
largest county...

"In private strategy and training calls, participants from some groups
have talked openly about more political aims, saying they believe their
work will help Republican candidates. Some groups largely target voters in
Democratic, urban areas."

[ [link removed] ]Can you chip in today to key progressives running in tight U.S. Senate
and House races so they can FIGHT BACK against Republican voter
suppression tactics?

Thanks for being a bold progressive.
