Dear Georgian,

Under the Biden administration, there were 203,597 illegal immigrant encounters at our southern border this August alone. That is a 307% increase in unlawful crossings compared to the last August of President Trump's administration. The left claims that our southern border is secure; however, we know the truth.

The fact is that we are now entering our 18th straight month of over 150,000 illegal border crossings. Since Joe Biden took office, over 3.5 million illegal immigrants have been apprehended, and over 1 million have been permitted to settle in the U.S., costing taxpayers over $20 billion each year. Since October, over 500,000 known individuals have evaded border security and entered the U.S.

78 suspected terrorists from various nations have taken advantage of our insecure border and were apprehended trying to infiltrate our country. On top of all this, over 10,000 pounds of deadly fentanyl was seized this fiscal year, with enough fentanyl found in Tift County to kill over 270,000 people.

Part of the Republican Commitment to America is restoring our border security so our nation can be safer for our families.

Combatting Russian Influence

Putin's war in Ukraine is unacceptable, and any nation financially supporting Russia should not be tolerated. I joined colleagues in urging Secretary Blinken to impose sanctions on those in the Algerian government who purchased Russian arms.

Supporting Hunters and Anglers

The Biden administration is trying to ban hunters and anglers from using lead bullets or tackle on federal lands and waters because of their woke environmental agenda.

I cosponsored the Protecting Access for Hunters and Anglers Act to prevent the Secretary of the Interior or the Secretary of Agriculture from banning the use of lead ammunition or tackle on federal lands unless they can provide specific evidence that lead ammunition or tackle is causing a decline in a wildlife population and the regulations are consistent with state law or approved by state fish and wildlife department.

Stopping IRS Overreach

Democrats passed the misleading Inflation "Reduction" Act earlier this month, creating an IRS army by adding over 87,000 agents to audit taxpayers. Currently, 90% of audits target families and small businesses making less than $400,000, and Secretary Yellen instructed the IRS to continue this in order to fund the administration's agenda.

To combat this, I joined colleagues in cosponsoring the Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act to repeal the IRS enforcement funding passed under the Inflation "Reduction" Act and end this unnecessary harassment from an already dysfunctional agency.
