Fellow Democrats,
Here we are, just 36 days before the election. Voting has already begun in Michigan . Candidates, volunteers, and staff across the state are out talking to voters every day about the issues Michiganders care most about. The One Campaign for Michigan continues to open new offices, adding new staff, ensuring that we are reaching voters in every corner of the state.
There is still so much work to be done, but we can do it with your help. Need a yard sign? Visit your local One Campaign for Michigan Office [[link removed]] . Want to volunteer? Check out opportunities to help candidates in your area [[link removed]] . Want to know more about the Democrats running for office where you live? Use our tool BallotReady [[link removed]] to see your Democratic slate of candidates. Have a question about the election, candidates, or one of the proposals? Submit it here [[link removed]] and get an answer from the MDP staff. Running into a problem voting or getting your ballot? Call our voter protection hotline at 1-833-MI-VOTES.
We have built tools, created events, and recruited candidates to ensure that our Democratic values win on November 8, and while we continue to do our work of turning out the vote for Democrats in all 83 counties, it is now time for you to do your part. Share this information with your friends and family, and remind them that this election IS the most important election of our lifetime. Our lives, and those of our children and grandchildren are on the ballot this year and we cannot afford to let even one person sit out this election. Every vote matters and every vote counts.
Stay with us through these next 36 days, don’t lift your foot off that gas pedal and come November 8 at 8pm, we will celebrate!
In Solidarity,
Lavora Barnes

REMINDERS FOR MAIL BALLOTS!
If you have received your ballot application , return it ASAP. If you have received your ballot , return it ASAP.
To make sure your ballot is received on time at your clerk’s office and doesn’t get held up in the mail, the Voter Protection Team recommends mailing it to your city or township clerk no later than October 15.
After this date, the best way to make sure it’s received is to drop it off in-person at your city or township clerk’s office or at one of their drop boxes. All ballots must be received in your clerk’s office – not just postmarked – by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. Make sure your vote is counted!
JOIN OUR TEAM!
Volunteer with our Voter Protection Team to help protect voting rights in Michigan.
Getting involved is easy and Zoom training is provided for all roles.
At a time when voting rights continue to be threatened by Republican attacks and misinformation, we need to ensure that voters are able to cast a ballot and that every vote is counted in the 2022 midterm elections.
Pre-Election Day “Early Vote” Challengers - Needed to perform weekly check-ins at clerks' offices from September 29 through November 7 to ensure absentee ballots are issued upon request, clerks' staff are complying with current election law, and that there are no impediments to in-person absentee voting.
Election Day Poll Challengers - Serve as our team’s eyes and ears on the ground at polling locations on Election Day. They observe the process and intervene with election officials as needed, to make sure that voters are able to cast a ballot that counts. Our Poll Challengers do NOT challenge voters but are there to advocate for voters. Poll Challengers must be registered to vote in Michigan and they receive credentials from the MDP.
Counting Board Challengers - Volunteers will be assigned to a counting room to observe the process on Election Day, intervene with election officials as needed, and report any issues to the Voter Protection Team. Counting Board Challengers must be registered to vote in Michigan and they receive credentials from the MDP.
Interested? Go to MichiganDems.com/VoProVol [[link removed]] and sign up for a training in the section for the volunteer role you’re interested in, or fill out the Volunteer Interest Form [[link removed]] and one of our associates will get back to you.

OCTOBER IS NATIONAL CYBERSECURITY AWARENESS MONTH!
October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) which was created by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and National Cyber Security Alliance. They want to ensure consumers have access to the resources they need to stay safe and secure online.
While cybersecurity can be quite geeky, the MDP is confident that you do these simple and easy THREE things you'll thwart most attacks.
1. Keep your computer, laptop, phone, and tablet software up-to-date.
2. Use better password hygiene . You know that it's easy to crack into accounts "secured" with 123456. Don't fret about having to remembering complex passwords, we recommend implementing a password manager (we like LastPass). Then bring it all home with two-factor authentication and use physical security keys (YubiKeys is our favorite solution).
3. Think twice about clicking links online, in your email, and now even in your text messages. Cyberthieves know you are busy and distracted. They know you trust your boss (who they'll spoof if they can) and that you probably use tools from companies like Facebook, Microsoft, Google, and PayPal (look at the sender address to see if that upgrade notice is really from them).

ANNOUNCING: REP'D
The Michigan Democratic Party is launching a new tool to connect with you. We routinely receive important questions from Democrats across the state, and we are now introducing a fast and easy way for your questions to be answered.
Using Rep’d, a political Q&A platform, voters can ask questions concerning the Michigan Democratic Party, candidates, elections, policy issues, or ways to get involved.
Voters will receive a video answer and are immediately notified via email once their question has been answered.
Rep’d is super easy to use, and we are excited to launch this interactive opportunity.
If you would like an answer to any of your questions, please go to [[link removed]] michigandems.com [[link removed]] and click on the Questions link in the navigation or directly to www.repd.us/michigan [[link removed]] .
We look forward to receiving your questions and thank you for being part of the MDP community.
