For the longest time, it has been an assumption that politicians debate their opponents. It’s a central part of our democracy — it’s one of the best ways for people to get to know the candidates and make their voting decisions.
So then, why does Mike DeWine refuse to debate Nan Whaley? There are just weeks to go until the general election, and now would be a perfect time to put the two on a stage together.
Nan Whaley and her team have requested a debate numerous times, but DeWine refuses to show up and face his opponent. What is he afraid of?
