Are we ready for 2020?

The holiday season provides space to prepare.

We join with friends and family to create new memories and observe timeless traditions; to forge new bonds and strengthen old ones. These same values will fuel our campaign’s growth.

In preparing for 2020, our Western Region grassroots leader Kay Lathrop has thoughts on how we do so.

She invites us to focus on five “R”s: Retreat, Restore, Rally, Re-engage, Reignite.

Retreat
Celebrate this holiday season as a place that you’ll remember—a retreat for whatever comes ahead. Be present, take a mental or physical snapshot of who you are with, what you are doing, and why it matters. Work will wait, but the time spent with loved ones won’t.

Restore
We have too few opportunities to ask, “what would deeply restore or recharge me?” Commit to making an opportunity to answer that question this holiday season. How we restore ourselves is different—it should be different—for each one of us. Whatever you need to restore your emotional and mental energies, make sure that you take the time to do it.

Rally
Connect deeply to loved ones for love, joy, laughter and support. Make a point of laughter—from giggles all the way to deep belly laughs. Laughter is proven to reduce stress hormones, boost the immune system and trigger the release of mood-enhancing endorphins.

Re-engage
Whether by spending time with family, reaching out to people in your local community, or re-visiting our community of the holidays are for strengthening your relationships. Re-engage with the people who mean the most to you, including other Marianne 2020 supporters on facebook [[link removed]] .

Reignite
Connect to your why. What first inspired you to Marianne Williamson and her political message? These acts may help you remember how visionary Marianne's candidacy really is.

Reignite by taking time this holiday season to reclaim your love for our campaign and, most importantly, for your involvement in our democracy.

We are all here, in this together, because we have been called to a movement—a movement of change, of political activism, of public service and public responsibility. A new America is about to emerge. And it is from our energies that it will come to be so.
