I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but when the clock hit 11:‌59 p.m. last night on my official FEC deadline, we fell way short of what we needed to raise to win this toss-up Senate race. 

I don't know how else to say this: We're in a very precarious position, and Mitch McConnell and the GOP will stop at nothing to take advantage of our weakness in this moment. I'm already their No. 1 target and need resources to combat the multimillion-dollar smear campaign McConnell's super PAC is running on Nevada televisions as we speak.

That's why I had to make sure you saw this message (below). A group of donors extended their generous offer to match every donation three times over until 11:‌59 p.m. toni‌ght. This is exactly what we need to make up my fundraising shortfall and WIN. So with Senate control coming down to our race, will you give $5 (becomes $15) to help me keep Nevada and the Senate blue?

I have BAD NEWS. Even with a group of Democratic donors, including yours truly, triple-matching all gifts, Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) fell over $25,000 short of her FEC deadline goal.  

What's WORSE is that her opponent was just on Twitter bragging about his polling advantage in the race that will decide Senate control!!!

This fundraising shortfall and the GOP's polling advantage is just the tip of the iceberg. Mitch McConnell's super PAC is also on the air right now with tens of millions of dollars worth of attack ads smearing Catherine's name. Falling short of big grassroots fundraising deadlines jeopardizes our chances of keeping Nevada and the Senate blue. 

The most vulnerable Democratic senator on the ballot needs you, friend.
