Hello Porcupine!

Happy holidays! Whether you celebrate Chanukah, Winter Solstice, Festivus, Christmas, Kwanzaa, or a good old fashioned plate of spaghetti, celebrations are in the air. Gift giving is an international, interfaith, and intersectional tradition, and I'm all for it. We are living in a material world, after all. Read on for a list of ideas for the whole family.

If you would like to make one last gift before the end of 2019, please consider investing in the Free State Project by clicking here. A gift of $2,500, $1,000, $500, $250, $100, $50, or $35 makes a big impact on our organization.

Enjoy!
Rachel

Board Chairman Carla Gericke Talks Real Life In NH

Take a listen to Carla Gericke and Mance Rayder talk FSP in New Hampshirecarla gericke
"We have a unique situation in the NH statehouse, with a D House and Senate and a R Governor, I think Governor Sununu has vetoed more bills this session than any in NH history. There were at least seven state reps who uttered the words 'Taxation is Theft' in speeches from the from the well."

Winter Tricks from New Movers

"While searching for [housing] options,Molly on the FreeCoast we noticed that in the Seacoast region, especially in Hampton Beach, there are several options for winter rentals. Beach houses that rent for astronomically high costs by the week during summer, had drastically reduced monthly rates available in the winter. We decided this would be perfect for us. We would have time to further explore New Hampshire and get a better feel for the Seacoast region without being locked in for an entire year. Also, the majority of these rentals are furnished so we shipped out a few essentials, but left the majority of our possessions in a storage unit in California. So now, when we move in to our home that Mark helped us submit an offer on, we can have our items shipped directly to the new house which, as another perk, prevented us from having to move everything twice."
