Happy fall! The weather's getting cooler, and the general election is only about a month away.

But while most of New York City is safely Democratic, there are some crucial, highly competitive races right here in Brooklyn that need your support!

Join Brooklyn Young Democrats at Minnie's Bar in Sunset park at 6:45pm on Thursday, October 13th to connect with Democratic candidates in competitive races.

We'll hear from Assembly Member Mathylde Frontus, who's running for re-election in Assembly District 46, which stretches from Coney Island to Bay Ridge. A first-generation American, Assembly Member Frontus has fought for funding for southern Brooklyn parks, hospitals and schools since she was elected in 2018.

We'll also speak with Iwen Chu, a proud immigrant mom and a long-time public servant running in the newly-drawn 17th State Senate District, which connects Gravesend, Bensonhurst and Sunset Park.

They'll talk to us about their vision for Brooklyn, and how we can help them defeat right-wing Republican challengers in November.

Afterwards, we'll re-activate our Women's Caucus and Policy Caucus, and discuss ways BYD can drive important discussions around local and national issues.
