Dear John,

I'm writing to you this holiday season as we continue to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the birth of the Communist Party, USA.

*I'm writing to you today to ask that you help us celebrate this milestone movement in U.S. working-class history by **donating* [ [link removed] ]* $100, $250 or $500 today. *

It was in September 1919 that our unique brand of Marxism took organization form. During the past 100 years, we have helped to initiate, shape, lead, and participate in, some of the most critical struggles in U.S. history.

- From the organizing of the industrial unions to the struggles for African American equality through the National Negro Congress and the Southern Negro Youth Congress in the 1930s;

- From the Sharecroppers Union to the Unemployed Councils, to the International Workers Order and the fight against fascism during World War II;

- From the post-war defense of the Bill of Rights, against McCarthyism, to the Civil Rights Congress and the Council on African Affairs in the 1950s;

- From the campaigns to free Angela Davis and the birth of the National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression to the National Anti-Imperialist Movement in Solidarity with African Liberation and the domestic divestment movement against apartheid South Africa in the 1970s and 80s;

- From the struggles for peace during the wars in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan and our leadership in United for Peace & Justice and the National Youth and Student Peace Coalition in the 2000s, to solidarity with Venezuela, Bolivia, Brazil, and Cuba;

- From the rank and file struggles that helped transform the labor movement in the 1970s-1990s;

- From the battles on every front and in every election cycle to defeat the extreme right danger beginning in 1980 with the election of Ronald Reagan to today's dire threat posed by Trump, the white supremacist and serial rapist in the White House.

These are just a few examples.

For over 100 years now, the Communist Party, USA, has been at the forefront of the struggles for workers' rights, African American equality, peace, democracy, and what we call Bill of Rights eco-socialism [ [link removed] ].

*I'm writing to you today to ask that you help us celebrate this milestone movement in U.S. working-class history by making a $100, $250, or $500 **donation* [ [link removed] ]* today. *

Your contribution will go a long way toward making sure that the CPUSA continues its long-term mission of winning socialism while fighting for immediate goals – like the defeat of the far-right in the 2020 elections.

As you know, we live in dangerous times. The far-right is emboldened. The Trump presidency has been a disaster for working families, women, children, people of color, and immigrants.

The wealth gap continues to widen. The rich are getting richer, and the poor are getting poorer.

The assault on civil liberties, the truth and the rule of law has made a mockery of the constitution.

But the far-right can be defeated by the organized might of the people! We can help win the case for democracy and climate justice and move our country forward.

We have a unique contribution to make. We see the strategic importance of defeating the far-right, of organizing and mobilizing the broadest possible alliances.

*Please consider **giving* [ [link removed] ]* $100, $250 or $500 today. *

*Give not only because of our history – a proud and dynamic history! Give because of our future – a future full of possibilities. *CPUSA National Co-Chair Joe Sims calls this a "socialist moment." More and more people are exploring socialism.

In fact, thousands have joined the Communist Party, USA over the past few years. And we are a part of the day-to-day struggles to defeat the far-right and safeguard democracy – a role we have played for 100 years now!

*Please help us celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the birth of the Communist Party with a **donation* [ [link removed] ]* of $100, $250 or $500 today!*

As part of our 100th Anniversary year of celebrations, CPUSA leaders held regional conferences in New York, Chicago, and L.A. Additionally, Party leaders spoke on numerous college and university campuses across the country.

Further, the "People's World" [ [link removed] ] published dozens of articles on our history and our contributions to the various struggles for workers' rights, equality, peace, democracy, and socialism. Items have been written about our participation in other publications, too.

Incidentally, People's World surpassed 2 million unique readers and 150,000 return readers this year and garnered 21 awards from the International Labor Communications Association for outstanding journalism.

Needless to say, it's been a busy year! Next year is bound to be more active!

Together, we can defeat the far-right and help win the case for democracy in our land. With your help, we can talk to thousands more about socialism.

Our future is bright! We are a living, breathing, dynamic, changing organization.

*Give today! Your **donation* [ [link removed] ]* of $100, $250 or $500 will help in concrete, tangible ways.*

*Every dollar will help us put volunteers in battleground states, organize phone-banks, and educate new members. Donate to remember yesterday! But more importantly, donate for today and tomorrow!*

You can donate online [ [link removed] ] at cpusa.org or by check. Make checks payable to CPUSA, 235 W. 23rd. St., New York, NY 10011.

We hope you have a wonderful holiday season with family and friends.

Here's to a New Year of struggle!

In solidarity, Tony Pecinovsky
