2. Val Demings is the daughter of a maid and a janitor. Growing up poor, Black and female in the 1960s South was challenging for sure, but thanks to Demings' "never tire" attitude, she became the first in her family to graduate college. 

3. Val Demings served as a law enforcement officer for 27 years – and was even the first Black woman ever to serve as Orlando's chief of police.

4. As Congresswoman for Florida's 10th District, Val Demings voted to uphold the rule of law and impeach Donald Trump – and she served as an impeachment manager in his first trial. 

5. Since entering the race for Florida's U.S. Senate seat, Val Demings has outraised Marco Rubio every single quarter.

6. Both CNN and The Washington Post have reported that Florida is one of the MOST LIKELY Senate seats to flip blue in eight weeks – and may be our best chance to pick up a Democratic seat. 

7. For months, Val Demings trailed Rubio by just TWO POINTS in the polls. 

8. But now, two brand-new polls show Val Demings TIED with Marco Rubio, and a third showing her down just ONE POINT.
