… because our community — including LGBTQ young people — still isn’t safe
Hi
Friend of Trevor,
LGBTQ History Month celebrates the LGBTQ community and our victories and accomplishments, which have safeguarded and advanced our fundamental rights and freedoms.
It’s also an opportunity to thank you for being part of The Trevor Project’s community. Caring people like you fuel our best work to create a welcoming and loving world for LGBTQ young people — and end LGBTQ youth suicide.
Together in the months ahead, we will move our mission forward by advocating for the resources and protections, like the examples below, that LGBTQ young people deserve.
This watershed legislation would ensure that existing federal protections prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, housing, public spaces, education, federally funded programs, credit, and jury service.
988
Trevor was a key player in securing a three-digit code for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline — 988 — which went live in July. People across the country experiencing a mental or behavioral health emergency can dial 9-8-8 to get help.
In 2022, legislators introduced 250+ anti-LGBTQ bills. Twenty-four became law. Most target transgender and nonbinary young people. To counter this onslaught, Trevor’s advocacy team collaborates with local partners, speaks in legislatures and other state bodies, and cites our research in amicus (friend of the court) briefs to support lawsuits.
Thank you again for working with Trevor to create the world that we all want — a place where every LGBTQ young person knows they’re loved, valued, and never alone.
In partnership,
Preston Mitchum he/him/his

Contributions from kindhearted people like you make the world safer and more loving for LGBTQ young people — and ensure that Trevor can be there for them in a moment of crisis.
The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and mental health organization for LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning) young people.
