Making Bail Visible: A New Interactive Data Tool from the ACLU of Pennsylvania

Friend –

Following up on the release of our report, Broken Rules: How Pennsylvania Courts Use Cash Bail to Incarcerate People Before Trial, <[link removed]> the ACLU of Pennsylvania recently launched a website featuring interactive visualizations of the data from the report. The data is from 2016-17, the last year statewide bail information was available.

Data is crucial to understanding local bail practices and how they drive mass incarceration. We hope this website will help courts, journalists, and advocates better understand bail practices across the commonwealth.
