Representative Tlaib, dozens of staffers, attend AMP's congressional briefing on Israel's treatment of US citizens

With resounding success, AMP organized a landmark congressional briefing on Capitol Hill about Israel's treatment of U.S. citizens. Dozens of congressional staffers filled a room in the Longworth House Office Building on July 24th for a briefing on Israel's abuse of U.S. citizens despite the fact that most of the nation's attention was focused on Special Counsel Mueller's hearing in Congress. The briefing featured testimony from U.S. citizens directly impacted by Israel or those who litigated on behalf of U.S. citizens killed by Israel. The briefing also featured Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib who spoke about her and her family's mistreatment by Israel. Representative Tlaib encouraged the attendees to "Push back against racist policies in Israel."

"This congressional briefing ushers in a new area of AMP's work. It shows that we are not only progressing quantitatively, rather we are progressing qualitatively as well. We are covering more ground to advance the Palestine agenda in the U.S. As advocates for Palestinian rights, we need to continue to challenge the Zionist agenda in the public, media, and political domains," said AMP's Executive Director, Osama Abuirshaid.

AMP used this briefing to introduce a new policy paper on Israel's killing and injuring of U.S. citizens along with the discriminatory entry policies that Palestinian-Americans deal with. The policy paper ends with three key policy recommendations that calls on the U.S. to follow its own laws. Download our entire report and policy paper.

AMP is committed to continuing its relentless work to advance the just cause of Palestine in the U.S. It's because of the support of people like you that we are able to keep up this good fight.
