Dear John,
We have to do more to manage our forests, or our forests will continue to manage us.
That's why I’m pushing Congress to pass my bipartisan “Cottonwood” bill to stop fringe environmental groups from blocking important forest management projects.
Hear from Paul McKenzie, VP and general manager of F.H. Stoltze Land and Lumber in Columbia Falls, about the serious threat frivolous litigation poses to Montana’s timber supply, good-paying jobs and active forest management that reduces the risk of catastrophic wildfires:
Without a Cottonwood fix, Montana’s forests will remain locked up, we’ll continue to see catastrophic wildfire seasons and more Montana jobs will see the chopping block.
It’s simple. We need more loggers in the forest, and less lawyers in the courtroom.
As your voice in the United States Senate, I will continue pushing for commonsense forest management policies that support good-paying Montana jobs and reduce the rick of wildfires.
Sincerely,
Senator Steve Daines
